Alban Arthan 2004

Alban Arthan 2004. This year's ritual was one of our largest - 84 people attended! This was a Welsh Pantheon rite, honoring Lleu Llaw Gyffes and Gwydion. Mark had his debut as Druid 1, Julian was Druid 2, Nora was the Seer, Arlene the Bard, Gannd was Sanctifier and Kirk was the Storyteller. All in all, this was quite an exciting ritual!

Samhain 2004Samhain 2004

Samhain 2004. This year's Samhain ritual was full of emotion and had some really fabulous Praise Offerings. These were by Grove members and by ADF members visiting from Los Angeles. Gannd was Druid 1, Don was Druid 2, Kirk was Seer, Arlene was Bard, Mark was Warrior and Gordon was Sanctifier.

Grove Annual Meeting 2004

The Sumbel 2004. This year the Grove held it's annual meeting during the Feast of Cernunnos (Cernunnia). Kirk led the ritual Sumbel and Gannd was re-elected as Senior Druid, Mark Cantwell was elected as Scribe, and Arlene Davis was re-elected as Pursewarden.

Three Realms 2004. Gannd and Kirk once more trekked out to California to attend Ravens Cry Grove's fabulous festival in the mountains above Santa Barbara. This year they were accompanied by Linda Costello, Senior Druid of the Grove of the Rising Phoenix. Kirk presented a class on Circles of Concentration. And we found an oak tree full of mistletoe! Good Druids that we are, we just couldn't let that pass by without action!

Alban Elfed 2004

Alban Elfed 2004. This year, our Welsh Pantheon Rite honored Manawydan fab Lir and his stepson, Pryderi from the Third Branch of the Mabinogi. The rite had to take place indoors due to bad weather, the first time in three years this has happened.

Dame Julian once more took the lead as D1, assisted by Gordon as D2.

Sirius Rising/Starwood 2004. Gannd and Kirk drove out to upstate New York to attend these great Pagan festivals, taking two huge tents with them. And their camp became "Druid Central" for the folks in Druid Heights.

Midsummer 2004

Midsummer, 2004. We had 70 people attend our Midsummer ritual this year. We invoked the Gods Cernunnos, for prosperity for all, and Taranis, to help bring on the Monsoon rains. Julian was D1, Kirk was D2, Gordon was the Seer, Arlene the Bard, Mark the Warrior and Gannd the Sanctifier. We all had our new tabbards, color coded to denote each Celebrant's position in the rite.

Wellspring Procession Wellspring 2004

Wellspring 2004. Wellspring was the ADF Annual Meeting, and a great event besides! There was a terrific bardic circle, the ADF Warrior Games and an incredible main ritual, where the image of Manannan was added to the National Nemeton.

Kia Marie of Muin Mound Grove led the refurbishment efforts that saw our Nemeton grow in size and dignity. Many thanks to all those that helped out!

Desert Magic Festival

Desert Magic Festival 2004. This year was the first Desert Magic Festival, held by the Sonoran Sunrise Grove at Summerlands. There were many rituals in both the evening and morning, as well as numerous classes taught by some of the biggest names in ADF Druidry. Not to mention a great Bardic evening and lots of great food! Archdruid Skip Ellison also consecrated Kirk Thomas as an ADF Dedicant Priest (right).

Gordon Walker as Druid 1 Beltane 2004

Beltane, 2004. This year, we decided to do our Beltane Ritual as a Scottish Faerie Rite. This was our first Scottish ritual, and we used the Irish Pantheon with the addition of Scotia as the Earth Mother. The Celebrants sported tartans and many had woad designs painted on their faces.

Our Scots performed many parts in the ritual, including Gordon Walker as Druid 1 (his first time!), Fiona Brigit as Druid 2 and Mark Cantwell as the Warrior. Arlene did her usual turn as the Bard, Gannd did Seer, Julian was the Sanctifier and Kirk was the Storyteller. Tree Willow Windsong invoked the Deities.

The Gods invoked were Oisin and his Faerie Princess, Niamh.

Imbolc 2004

Imbolc, 2004. Dame Julian once again led the ritual as Druid 1, with Don Davis returning as Seer. Kirk Thomas was the Bard, Gannd was Druid 2, Nan Martin again took a turn as Druid 3, Gordon Walker was the Warrior and Daki once again was the Sanctifier. A chorus for the invocation to Brigit was taught to the People and sung by all.
