MINUTES
Annual General Meeting
at Michele's House, Tucson, AZ
16 October, 2002
  1. Present were Gannd, Michele, Kirk, Steve, Morgan, Don & Arlene.
  2. Minutes. The Minutes of the meeting at Maxim's on 2 October were approved as corrected.
    1. Change spelling of names in 1. to Lala and Dani.
    2. Add to 5.d. the following: "Arlene coordinated the Kids' Quest".
    3. Change amount in 5.e. to $195.
  3. SSG Annual Elections
    1. The nominees ran unopposed and were elected unanimously.
      1. Senior Druid - David Foster (Gannd)
      2. Pursewarden - Arlene Davis
      3. Scribe - Kirk Thomas
  4. Pursewarden's Report.
    1. The Pursewarden reported that there was $120 in the Treasury at this time.
    2. Compass Bank is offering free business checking. Kirk will check it out.
    3. All three officers will be able to sign checks, but only one will be required.
    4. Whoever writes a check will do so only after confirming with one other officer beforehand.
  1. Contacting Past ADF Members in Tucson.
    1. Don will compile the list of members by our next meeting at Maxims.
  2. Advertising.
    1. Gannd will send us copies of possible ads by e-mail for our comments and will bring hard copies to our next meeting at Maxim's.

  3. Membership Renewals
    1. We will all renew our ADF memberships as of October 31 (Samhain) each year out of Grove funds.
    2. Each Grove member will contribute $10 for the Grove and $15 for ADF over the course of the year.
    3. The Pursewarden will keep track of each person's donations up to $10. Members are encouraged to continue contributing through the year towards their ADF amount.

  4. Old Business.
    1. We have still not heard back from Daki and Lynda about their wedding plans.
  5. New Business
    1. Fundraising - could we make more logo items to sell to raise money?
      1. Ceramics, mugs
      2. Crafts
      3. T-shirts, etc.
    2. Emergency Response Actions - things we may need to know about:
      1. Gannd will make a report at the next meeting.
    3. Ritual Signage - Signs at the Stone Circle
      1. Realtors can get realty signs. Steve will talk to Carol Garr to find out about this.
      2. Pan Forge will make some sign hangers to our specification in black iron - cost negotiable.
    4. Three Realms Event - Ravens Cry Grove, ADF in California
      1. Gannd and Kirk will be attending this year.
      2. They will take some of the SSG pins.
      3. They will take extra copies of past liturgies and newsletters for trade.
    5. Craft Classes. Gannd will teach craft classes if anyone is interested. He is also doing this with the SCA.
    6. Welsh Language Lessons. Classes are on Thursday nights and they are free! We will start on November 14th. They will take place at the Foothills Mall and the contact number is 520-579-5371 (Lynn Watts).
    7. Harry Potter. TAWN will be getting together to see the new Harry Potter film on Sunday, Nov. 17th around noon.
    8. Restaurant Location. Shall we stop going to Maxim's and find a better, quieter and larger venue? Don will check it out for the next meeting.
    9. Mind/Body/Spirit Expo. Gannd will find out if we can have a booth there.
  6. Samhain Ritual.
    1. Celebrants will be:
      1. Druid 1 - Gannd
      2. Druid 2 - Don
      3. Seer - Kirk
      4. Bard - Arlene
    2. The Ritual will take place at Summerlands Stone Circle on Thursday, October 31 just before sunset. Gates will open at 5:30 pm.
    3. For the Grove praise offering, we will do the Wild Hunt. Kirk will sing "Hoof and Horn" and Arlene and Morgan will dance as dead spirits. There will also be a ritual of "release".
    4. As part of the return flow, the Seer will lead a trance journey to the Isles of Avalon so the participants can commune with their dead.
